Parents' Association introduces SEED for parents
The Parents' Association is very excited to be
offering a new program to CA parents this year.
While SEED is new for parents at CA, this program has been used in
schools in the U.S.
and abroad for 22 years, and CA Middle School teacher MaryEve Corrigan has been
running a SEED group for CA faculty for more than 16 years. SEED stands for Seeking Educational Equity
and Diversity and offers participants the chance to consider issues of
multi-culturalism and diversity, especially with regard to our own school
community, and within the context of our personal life stories. The group, limited to 20 parents, will meet
over the course of the year, once a month for nine months, from 6-9 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Joyce Simson P'08 will lead the group. More detailed information, including the
meeting schedule, will follow. Please
contact PACA Parent Education Chair Lee Szykowny (Zeke162@aol.com ), PACA President Ken Brown (KBrown@sbcadvertising.com) or Joyce
Simson (jrs@ix.netcom.com) with
questions.

Scrip orders available now through September 12
PACA is pleased to be offering the Scrip
program once again. Last year, Scrip raised over $7,000, which was
given to the school in the form of PACA grant money to benefit our children and
the school's programs. Our program offers the convenience of buying gift cards
from all kinds of retailers like Lands' End, Kohl's, Giant Eagle and Starbucks.
The retailers rebate a portion of your gift card purchase amount back to the
school. This rebate can be up to 17 percent. You get the advantage of having the Scrip cards to use at the places you usually shop or to give as
gifts, while the school gets the benefit of a regular source of income. Click here to download the forms and details. Please continue to reload the Kroger cards
that you have purchased through our Scrip program. For questions, please email Cindy Poehlmann at cwpoehlmann@sbcglobal.net. Thank
you for your support.
