Get To Know...
Ken Brown Parents' Association President
Family: "I am a CA graduate from the class of '75. Along with my wife Blythe, we have two
children at CA, Michael '09 and Daniel '11, and a daughter at CSG, Kelly '15. We live in Bexley."
Philosophy: "The theme for this year's Parents' Association
is 'Leave A Legacy.' We have asked every
committee to reinvent itself with a fresh, innovative approach to their
responsibilities. I am very fortunate to
have a great board willing to commit time away from personal, family and
business life to serve the school and parent community. I invite you
to come to a meeting and see all the new work that is going on."

School's first Late Start Day is next Wednesday
Next Wednesday, October 15, will be the first
Late Start Day of the school year. This
means that classes will not begin until 9:30 a.m. for all three divisions
because of professional development sessions for the faculty and staff. For families needing to drop off their
children at the normal time, Lower
School students can go to
the CASE room beginning at 7:30 a.m. while Middle School students can go to the
MS Library. Both rooms will have adult supervision. Upper School
students should find a quiet place to study or read. Students in grades 9 through 11 who are
scheduled to take the PSAT, however, need to report to the Upper School
for attendance by 8:05 a.m. For this
school year, other Late Start Days will be on November 12 and February 11 with
Early Dismissal Days (school day ends at noon) planned for January 12 and April
20.

A reminder about e-mail, directory and class list uses
As a community that includes a number of
businesses, occupational endeavors and other non-profit organizations in which
our parents and alumni are involved, Columbus
Academy discourages the
marketing or promotion of such entities through the school's e-mail, directory,
class lists or other provided contact information. We encourage those
families who wish to advertise or promote their specific interests to do so
through available vehicles such as advertising in sports programs, The Academy
Life student newspaper, or by becoming a sponsor of the Charlie David Dinner or
PACA's spring fundraiser. Thank you for your cooperation.
