Rachel Raque
Rachel Raque
Class of 2020

For her seventh birthday last month, Rachel Raque invited her entire first grade class to her birthday party but accepted no gifts.  Instead, she asked everyone to make a donation to Flying Horse Farms, which is a camp for children with serious illnesses being built in Mt. Gilead.  Her selflessness raised over $2,000 for the camp, which was founded by David and Jenni Belford, CA parents of Will '17 and Charlie '22.

Lisa Ling brings international perspective to CA
Lisa Ling SpeechAt last Wednesday's Celebration of Leadership events, international correspondent Lisa Ling motivated members of the CA community to pay more attention to the world around them.  After being interviewed by the Academy Life editors and spending time with students in the GROW group and China Club, Ling addressed the entire Upper School followed by an evening speech to Annual Fund leadership donors at the Wexner Party Barn.  Generously hosted by school parents Abigail and Les Wexner, the Celebration of Leadership is a thank you and a stimulus for those who provide gifts of $2,500 and above to CA's Annual Fund.  This year's event generated an additional $80,000 in new revenue for the school, bringing the five-year total to $400,000.  To see photos from Ling's visit, please click here.
