Tuition does not meet the full cost of educating an Academy student. Tuition and fees covered 87 percent of the operating budget last year. Thus, the Annual Fund is vital to helping make up the difference – the difference being additional opportunities and stronger programs for CA students/faculty. |

Minimizing the annual rate of increase in tuition helps make Columbus Academy more affordable and accessible to a wide population in Columbus. A successful Annual Fund is one of the ways that allows the school to achieve a student body that is diverse and multi-talented. |

Every member of the Columbus Academy community – alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni and other friends – is asked to give generously to the Annual Fund at the level appropriate for him or her. We hope that parents will make the school a philanthropic priority while their children are here and that alumni will honor the Academy's tradition of generosity by supporting today's students. Broad participation ensures a successful Annual Fund. |

Annual Fund dollars are unrestricted and can be used where needs and priorities are greatest. It should be noted that the Fund supplements the general operating budget; it does not fund "extra" items. The school's budget funds everything from faculty salaries and student financial aid to classroom materials, extracurricular supplies and daily campus operations. Gifts designated to a specific purpose not already included in the regular operating budget are considered "restricted." |
